COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Members of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office volunteered at the Every Day Is Christmas event on Dec. 23 at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison Borough. Dozens of local partners joined to offer free services and new toys to support families in need.  WRNJ Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Morris County honored retiring warden Christopher E. Klein during his final day at the Correctional Facility when a plaque dedicated the main conference room (effective Dec. 31). Klein, who served over 25 years, saw his duties transferred to Anthony P. Lotz on Jan. 1.  WRNJ Radio
  • Morris County Correctional Police Capt. Jay C. Milos retired after 30 years of service, leaving behind a legacy of leadership in key roles (intake and records) that helped keep the facility safe. He began his career on Feb. 19, 1996 at the former correctional facility on Court Street.  WRNJ Radio
  • Esther Jeffers retired Friday after 26 years with the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, having begun her career on May 5, 2000. Colleagues praised her professionalism and dedication to keeping daily operations smooth at the county correctional facility.  WRNJ Radio

HEALTH NEWS

  • Newborns have started the new year in northern New Jersey. Nova Nicole Norton arrived at 1:05 a.m. at Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair and others were born at hospitals in Teaneck, Dumont, Morristown, and Newark (including the first baby in the RWJ Barnabas network).  Daily Record
  • Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center welcomed its first baby of 2026 early New Year’s Day when baby boy Allaman was born at 1:25 a.m. in the hospital (weighing 6 lb, 8 oz and measuring 19.5 inches).  WRNJ Radio
