- ➤ County College of Morris was chosen as one of two colleges to run a 16- to 18-month apprenticeship program that teaches data science + artificial intelligence. Students will learn in class and on the job while earning certificates and a chance to work toward an associate degree. WRNJ Radio
- ➤ County College of Morris is hosting Footprints in Time, a historical photography exhibit featuring rare photos & artifacts from late 1800s Dover. The event will open with a free reception on Friday, Feb. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the CCM Gallery on campus in Randolph. WRNJ Radio

- ➤ A New Jersey law signed Tuesday created a Woodlands Protection Fund that buys easements on at least five contiguous acres to help landowners protect forests from development; the fund will use federal money, state funds & private donations to preserve ecosystems. WRNJ Radio
- ➤ With bitter cold and snow forecast, local households are advised by the U.S. Department of Energy to set their thermostats at 68°F today so they can run heat efficiently — lowering settings when away may save up to 10% on heating costs. Daily Record

- ➤ The American Red Cross warned blood supplies in New Jersey have dropped 35% as high flu activity and winter storms reduced donations. They urge donors to give now; incentives include a chance to win a Super Bowl trip (donate by Jan. 25) or $20 gift card (donate Jan. 26–Feb. 28). WRNJ Radio
