CULTURE NEWS

  • Churches across North Jersey will offer drive-thru Ashes-to-Go services on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 18 — letting car passengers receive ashes without leaving their vehicles. Services at sites like Morristown bus and rail station aim to simplify busy mornings.  Daily Record

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Figures from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics show that inflation in North Jersey rose 2.9% year over year in January, the slowest pace in over two years (since Dec. 2023). Economists say lower fuel prices may help keep overall cost increases slower going forward.  Daily Record

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Jefferson Township schools face a $4.8 million gap and may cut sports and arts programs today if state Highlands Impact Aid does not arrive—local leaders, including Mayor Eric Wilsusen, urge residents to pressure state officials during the Board of Education meeting.
