A Bergen County man, Alexander Serrano from East Rutherford, was charged with second-degree vehicular homicide after crashing his 2003 Chevy Express van into a tree in Roxbury Township at 5:30 a.m. on April 28—killing front passenger Esmeralda Melchar—in a crash that sent him to Morristown Medical Center and led to his release on non-monetary bail conditions under the New Jersey Criminal Justice Reform Act.

The 16th Pathways of History Tour will take place May 3 and 4 in Morris County, allowing residents to visit 30 historic sites along two designated trails—Red and Blue—and gain insights into the county’s rich heritage.
