  • NJ pick-your-own farms have opened this summer for fresh fruits and vegetables at over 25 locations, including local Wightman Farms—a longtime favorite in Morristown. ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Thirteen-year-old boy riding his bike — who was not wearing a helmet — was struck by a Ford Explorer on Wolfe Road in Mount Olive Township at 6:35 p.m. Sunday when he crossed from Cassidy Road without yielding and was flown to Morristown Medical Center, police said.  WRNJ Radio

CRIME NEWS

  • A 70-year-old New York woman was charged with bank fraud in Denville Township after she used a fraudulent ID to withdraw $9,000 from Provident Bank on Broadway on February 26 — she waived extradition in Amsterdam and is now held at the Morris County Correctional Facility.  WRNJ Radio

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife officials are studying fishers making a comeback in northwestern areas using 150 trail cameras and plans to equip some with GPS collars—research has recorded sightings from High Point State Park to Denville—and they will continue the study at least another year to map the mammal’s movement and habitat.  Daily Record

  • New Jersey Banking and Insurance Commissioner Justin Zimmerman sent a letter urging Congress to extend federal enhanced premium tax credits (from the American Rescue Plan Act and Inflation Reduction Act) to keep quality health insurance affordable for around 450,000 Get Covered New Jersey consumers, warning that premiums could more than double if the credits expire.  WRNJ Radio
  • New Jersey Utilities Association will hold its 110th annual conference at the Hyatt Regency Morristown Hotel from May 28 to 29, where utility leaders will examine challenges from rising capacity charges that may lead to higher electric rates next month. The event will feature panels — including discussions on climate impacts and new water purification rules — and award presentations highlighting long-term solutions for residents.  WRNJ Radio

  • After the NBA lottery ended on May 12, Rutgers star Dylan Harper is projected as the No. 2 pick for a team already building around young talent while his teammate Ace Bailey is expected to be chosen between the No. 3 and No. 5 picks—both players had notable seasons despite Rutgers’ overall struggles.
