  • NJ Transit management and union rail workers met unexpectedly Saturday to discuss a five-year-old expired contract while union leaders said little progress was made on wage issues that affect 172,000 weekday riders. Today, the two sides will meet with the National Mediation Board to work toward a solution — marking only the second rail strike in the agency’s 42-year history.  Daily Record
  • Washington Township Recreation and the American Veteran’s Association of Washington Township Post 1776 will host the Annual Memorial Day Ceremony on May 24 at 12:00 noon at Rock Spring Park Memorial Site, 35 East Springtown Road in Long Valley. The event will feature retired First Lieutenant Timothy E. Fallon as keynote speaker—Rock Spring Park will be reserved exclusively for the ceremony and closed to other activities.  WRNJ Radio
