Good morning, Morristown.

The Board of Public Utilities approved a plan on June 18 to lower steep summer electricity bills by deferring $30 from each July and August bill and spreading that cost over six months from September to February—this effort also adds $48.7 million in assistance for low-income customers to prevent winter shutoffs. The measure was developed in coordination with New Jersey’s four electric distribution companies to ease the high usage costs during the summer months.
