- ➤ The Morris County Chamber of Commerce held its annual Spring Golf Classic last week at Spring Brook Country Club where over 130 golfers played and NOMADICS LLC—an intelligence, consulting and strategy firm—received the 2025 Business and Community Service Award for its support of future GIS, defense and engineering professionals. - ➤ On June 26, authorities arrested Neil H. Perry in a Walmart parking lot at 40 International Drive South in Mount Olive Township after finding him unresponsive in his vehicle with an electronic duster and several aerosol cans—he faces charges of using and possessing toxic chemicals, possessing drug paraphernalia, driving while intoxicated, and reckless driving before being released to a sober driver. - ➤ North Jersey will celebrate the Fourth of July with events ranging from parades and food festivals to fireworks and live music across many towns. In Morristown, the National Historical Park will host free activities on July 4 — including historical readings and tours — offering residents a chance to join the festive celebrations. Daily Record

- ➤ The Assembly Telecommunications and Utilities Committee advanced bill A5079 to designate electrical lineworkers and utility workers as first responders during weather emergencies + grant them civil liability protection and special decals for emergency access. - ➤ The Morris County Board of County Commissioners honored Chief Kelley Zienowicz today with a resolution for nearly 25 years of service at the Morris County Sheriff’s Office. She began as a civilian employee in 1999 and rose to chief sheriff’s officer in 2020—marking her dedication to public safety. WRNJ Radio
- ➤ New Jersey Assemblyman Christian Barranco sponsored a bill to let local governments use open space trust funds for repairing collapsed mine shafts and sinkholes that once disrupted I-80 and cost about $150,000 per day. The measure allows towns to adopt a resolution—without extra voter approvals—to quickly start repairs and safeguard public lands. WRNJ Radio
- ➤ New Jersey lawmakers advanced the $58.78 billion fiscal year 2026 budget on June 27 and it will be voted on in the state Senate and Assembly on June 30—Gov. Murphy must sign it by 11:59 p.m. to avoid a state shutdown. Daily Record
