ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A 24-year-old tow truck operator from Hopatcong Borough was killed after being struck by a vehicle while assisting a disabled car on Interstate 287 south near milepost 31.4 in Harding Township at 11:42 a.m. on Wednesday — his employer Ron and Sons Towing urged motorists to slow down and move over to protect service workers. - ➤ On Wednesday morning, emergency crews responded to an overturned dump truck on Naughright Road in Washington Township that spilled significant engine oil toward a storm sewer—firefighters and public works contained the spill with granular absorbent and spill pads while Hazmat and police managed cleanup and traffic control, and officials said it is not yet known if anyone was injured. - ➤ The Murphy Administration announced $44M in Local Bridges Fund grants for critical bridge repairs in five northern townships — four in Hunterdon and one in Morris — to support safe transportation and ease local tax pressures. The funds will be used to repair, reconstruct or replace county-owned bridges and improve infrastructure across the state. WRNJ Radio
