- ➤ A RentCafe report shows that North Jersey’s rental market cooled down, dropping from third last year to 11th this quarter—due to a small rise in apartment supply and a lower competitive score. - ➤ Sheriff James M. Gannon swore in Aaron D. Tomasini as the new Chief Sheriff’s Officer during a Monday morning ceremony at the Morris County Superior Courthouse complex. Tomasini—who began his work in the sheriff’s office in 2005 with the K-9 unit—vowed to support his team and build strong partnerships in law enforcement. WRNJ Radio
- ➤ Rekor Systems has demonstrated its AI-based technology to help the New Jersey Department of Transportation improve road safety—its system uses Bluetooth and connected car data to spot roadway issues without disrupting traffic and is already used in Florida, South Carolina and Texas. - ➤ New Jersey officials urge parents and caregivers to follow water safety guidelines as families visit beaches, pools, lakes and waterparks this summer—focusing on lifeguard presence and proper pool barriers to help prevent drownings among children and teens. The Departments of Children and Families and Health lead a statewide campaign that promotes strict supervision and clear warning signs—steps designed to lower drowning risks across the state.
