➤ On July 7, police arrested 52-year-old Wayne M. Turpin (a Phillipsburg man) in Lopatcong Township after he allegedly assaulted a woman with a kitchen knife at about 5:11 a.m.; she was seriously injured, taken to St. Luke’s Warren Hospital, and later released. WRNJ Radio

CULTURE NEWS

➤ On Saturday, July 12, the Paterson Museum Foundation will host a free event at Great Falls National Historical Park to mark 200 years since Lafayette’s 1825 visit with a reenactment featuring Michael Halbert. On Sunday, July 13, Morristown will hold a daylong celebration on the Green with a parade starting at 12:45 p.m. — local exhibits and reenactors honor the Revolutionary War hero. Daily Record
