ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On July 9, a driver was airlifted to a hospital after his Kia SUV overturned on I-80 West near milepost 24.2 in Mount Olive Township — injuries were non-life-threatening — and authorities are investigating the crash.  WRNJ Radio

CRIME NEWS

  • 44-year-old Oxana A. Prokofyeva from Lake Hopatcong was arrested on July 10 after a hit-and-run on Brady Road in Jefferson Township on June 28 injured two pedestrians—she now faces charges including leaving the scene, tampering with evidence, and hindering apprehension.  WRNJ Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Attorney General Platkin and Consumer Affairs acted on Thursday against nine out-of-state retailers for unlicensed alcohol sales into New Jersey—two received Notices of Violation with $4,000 penalties while seven agreed to stop selling and pay a $2,000 civil penalty each. The actions followed a joint investigation that uncovered unlicensed shipments of wine and spirits.  WRNJ Radio
  • NJDOT announced it completed a $1.1B FY25 capital program—marking the seventh straight year of billion-dollar investments—that awarded 111 construction contracts and 159 consultant selections; the program raised highway conditions from 65 to 82 percent while advancing repairs and safety projects.  WRNJ Radio
  • During a public meeting in Morristown, the Morris County Board of County Commissioners approved $2.6 million in grants from the Preservation Trust Fund to restore and protect 24 historic sites across 15 towns—following detailed reviews of 29 applications. The funding will support construction on 13 projects and planning for six at sites including the Community Club of Brookside and North Cottage at Craftsman Farms—efforts designed to preserve our county's heritage.  WRNJ Radio
