- ➤ Today, the Morris County Office of Planning and Preservation and the Board of County Commissioners unveiled a digital project (ZIP Code: Morris County Postal History) that shows 250 years of local postal history, including early Revolutionary War services. - ➤ Dr. Maria Isaza, dean of the School of Health Professions and Natural Sciences at County College of Morris, received the Excellence in Community Engagement Award from the Sloan Scholars Mentoring Network—recognizing her years of strong support for local education and community programs. - ➤ U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer sharply criticized PJM for a recent electricity auction that will increase NJ utility bills by 45%—he called on the federal review to address the grid operator’s mismanagement and rising costs for local families. WRNJ Radio
- ➤ Governor Phil Murphy signed a law on July 24 that lets drivers use a digital driver’s license on their cellphone — the Motor Vehicle Commission will work over the next few years to set up this option while still offering physical cards. News 12 New Jersey
- ➤ The NJ Assembly committee voted on July 24 to advance a bill that will adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance definition of antisemitism into law — a measure to help law enforcement identify hate crimes. - ➤ Officials warned that a federal plan to transform the Army will shift $500 million in annual funding and could lead to nearly 1,000 job losses at Picatinny Arsenal—a key military research facility in Morris County. - ➤ Assemblyman Michael Inganamort testified Thursday in support of Assembly Bill 3558 that would adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance's working definition of antisemitism — he said the measure clearly separates protected speech from hate-fueled language — during a contentious state committee hearing. - ➤ Hackettstown Medical Center and Newton Medical Center received the Emergency Nurses Association’s 2025 Lantern Award — honoring their teams for outstanding leadership, education and innovation in emergency care.
