- ➤ FirstEnergy urges residents to secure outdoor items and assemble an emergency kit—flashlights, extra batteries, water, and first-aid supplies—in preparation for late-summer storms; residents are advised to sign up for outage alerts and avoid downed power lines. WRNJ Radio
- ➤ A WalletHub study finds New Jersey ranks 3rd best for teen drivers in 2025—using measures like teen fatalities and distracted-driving laws—and the report places the state among the top five for safe driving. - ➤ Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon cautioned drivers to be alert today as schools reopen and students walk, bike, or wait for buses. - ➤ NJ Transit launched a new campaign called "Jersey Journeys – Every Stop Tells a Story" that features an interactive online map of more than 150 historic sites and landmarks across New Jersey accessible by bus, rail, or light rail. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A new report shows that New Jersey increased its funding for graduate medical education by 39% with $84.5 million added in fiscal year 2024 and $10 million planned for 2025 (a total boost), and 471 of the 1,580 residents (30%) now plan to work in the state.
