  • NJ Transit suspended service on the Morris and Essex lines on Saturday due to a freight train derailment near Summit Station Friday night. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The New Jersey Department of Transportation will close lanes at the intersection of Route 23 and Newark-Pompton Turnpike and Windbeam Road in Riverdale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, September 29—this restriping work prepares for a new traffic signal as part of a $13.8 million resurfacing project covering three miles northbound on Route 23.  WRNJ Radio
  • Residents planning to store boats or recreational vehicles this fall must check with local clerks or police departments to learn the rules on size, setback, and parking location—each municipality sets its own limits and fines for violations.   • Assemblywoman Aura Dunn warned that the loss of NJ PBS will reduce family access to free educational programming and community news, and she is forming a working group with lawmakers, broadcasters and journalists to seek a statewide solution.
