- ➤ The Morris County Historical Society will host the Pathways of History Fall Tour on Oct 4 and Oct 5 from noon to 5 p.m. as families will explore 25 historic sites (including eight from the American Revolution and the returning Lake Hopatcong Historical Museum). WRNJ Radio
- ➤ The Hanover Wind Symphony will celebrate 40 years by presenting a free dance concert called Dance On at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22 at Memorial Junior School—61 Highland Ave in Whippany, featuring junior Madison Choo, the HWS scholarship winner, performing Vincenzo Bellini’s Concerto for Oboe along with other dance pieces. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ County College of Morris is adding four for-college-credit certificates — Automation, Robotics & Control, Baking & Pastry Arts, Bookkeeping, and Entrepreneurship — to help students quickly prepare for high-demand careers; the Automation program will be taught at its Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Center while the other certificates will use the new Center for Entrepreneurship & Culinary Science opening early next year. - ➤ Gov. Phil Murphy signed a law Tuesday—requiring schools to teach Latino and Hispanic history and contributions—ensuring that lessons in this area will be added for all K-12 students starting in the 2026–2027 school year; local boards and the state Department of Education will work with districts to roll out new resources.
