- ➤ Morris County, partnering with the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority, is hosting a virtual public meeting on Oct. 14 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. to discuss plans for improving rail clearance on East Hanover Avenue Bridge—an effort aimed at allowing standard freight railcars to move more freely on the NJ Transit Morristown Line. - ➤ NJDOT begins a $11.8 million resurfacing project along Route 46 today with daytime shoulder closures from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday between Denville and Fairfield. Overnight lane closures on the westbound side in Fairfield will start Monday night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Oct. 17—work that will continue nightly and is expected to finish in spring 2026. - ➤ New Jersey law permits recording a conversation if you participate—filming in public spaces is generally allowed unless a location expects privacy. The law prohibits placing recording devices in areas like locker rooms and restrooms and makes it a crime to record conversations you are not part of. Daily Record
