  • Chabad of the Meadowlands hosted its kosher Tefillin Tailgate at MetLife Stadium on Oct. 9—bringing together over 300 Jews as DJ Akay mixed Hebrew, Yiddish and English tracks for pregame rituals and kosher food. The event, held for four seasons, allowed fans to experience bar mitzvah rituals and strengthen community bonds during NFL games.  Daily Record
  • Ace Frehley, the GRAMMY® Award—nominated rock guitarist and founding member of KISS, died peacefully Thursday at age 74 in Morristown after a fall at his home, his family said.  WRNJ Radio
  • North Jersey restaurants are hosting 12 Halloween and Dia de los Muertos food events that offer costume contests, themed drinks, live music, and holiday cooking classes—each event offers a unique celebration.   • Last week, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office brought its Anti-Bias/Bullying Program to Randolph Middle School during the district’s annual Week of Respect—Supervising Assistant Prosecutor Samantha DeNegri and Sergeant Patrick LaGuerre explained the impact of bullying and harmful online choices.   • Unity Charter school in Morris Township received a new mural makeover—Opella healthcare employees painted vibrant murals in the hallways to spread positivity—Jersey Cares partnered with the volunteers to support the project.  News 12 New Jersey
  • A Rutgers study found that New Jersey faces teacher shortages in key areas like multilingual learning and computer science even while the overall workforce remains steady.   • University Hospital in Newark launched its Mammography in Motion bus in March to bring breast cancer screening and risk assessment directly to underserved women by partnering with local health agencies and faith communities. The mobile service uses advanced imaging technology to send results for review within a week and aims to serve 4,000 women in Essex and surrounding counties — addressing higher mortality risks for Black women.  News 12 New Jersey
