CULTURE NEWS

  • North Jersey is celebrating Halloween this weekend with family-friendly parades in Bergenfield, Hackensack and Harrington Park, final-day farmers markets, live shows like the Jekyll and Hyde musical in Fair Lawn and a tribute concert in Morristown tomorrow night. Other events include film screenings in Fort Lee, a bird walk at Laurelwood Arboretum, a costumed race in Newton and seasonal festivals through Oct. 26.  Daily Record
  • Critics have given Bruce Springsteen's new movie Deliver Me From Nowhere mixed reviews, and they praised Jeremy Allen White’s strong performance — noting that the film shows honest emotion but has weak storytelling.  Daily Record
  • County College of Morris will present the musical comedy Hello, Dolly! from November 5–8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Dragonetti Auditorium on campus as more than 20 student performers bring lively musical numbers to the stage; general admission is $15 with discounts for eligible groups and parking is available in Lot 7 at 214 Center Grove Road.  WRNJ Radio

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The New Jersey Department of Education has awarded nearly $13.6 million in federal literacy grants to schools in Morris, Somerset, and Warren counties—supporting teacher training, classroom resources, and family engagement. Local recipients include Dover, Netcong, Manville, and Mansfield Township schools.  WRNJ Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • NJ Transit bus stops in North Jersey are placed in odd spots near busy highways and ramps — commuters face weather challenges and fast-moving traffic as they wait for buses. Local governments and the transit agency are reviewing stop placements and planning future improvements for passenger safety.  Daily Record
  • Congressman Tom Kean Jr. announced his offices are now accepting applications for his Spring 2026 internship program to give college students hands-on experience in legislative work. Applicants must be enrolled in college and apply online by November 19, 11:59 p.m. for positions in Washington, D.C. and Lebanon Borough.  WRNJ Radio
  • New Jersey Attorney General Matt Platkin filed a lawsuit in Essex County court alleging that Amazon discriminated against pregnant and disabled workers by denying reasonable accommodations and enforcing strict productivity rules. The suit asks the court to order changes to Amazon's policies and impose penalties for workers harmed by these practices.  Daily Record
  • The Morris County Board of County Commissioners named October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month during its Tuesday meeting and presented a framed proclamation to JBWS President and CEO Diane Williams for her work supporting survivors—JBWS provided over 1,100 crisis interventions in 2024 and continues to offer counseling, shelter, and legal help to those affected.  WRNJ Radio
