Arlington removed 30 friendly cats from a hoarding situation and is seeking help from rescue groups and foster families—two of the cats have special vision needs and available boarding is full. - ➤ Several North Jersey restaurants—including Dough Dash Pizza in Pine Brook, Vinnie's Mootz in Lyndhurst and The Oakley in Nutley—are offering free meals to people showing SNAP cards as benefits end on Nov. 1 due to the government shutdown. - ➤ Beginning Friday night, the ramp from I-80 westbound Exit 30 to Howard Boulevard in Mount Arlington will close for about two weeks. Officials say drivers should plan alternate routes—this may affect morning and evening commutes. WRNJ Radio
- ➤ Governor Phil Murphy announced Wednesday that the state with help from Undue Medical Debt delivered a fifth round of medical debt relief to erase $59 million in bills for over 48,000 residents—those affected will get a notice in the mail soon. WRNJ Radio
- ➤ New Jersey American Water broke ground Tuesday on a 22,517-square-foot operations center at 290 E. Washington Avenue in Washington Borough to boost water service for customers in Warren and Morris counties. Construction will start in November and finish in December next year—local officials and company leaders showed strong support for the project. WRNJ Radio
