EDUCATION NEWS

  • County College of Morris has opened registration for Winterim courses starting December 22 and for Spring sessions beginning January 20 with a Late 7-week term on March 23. The college offers over 100 programs and financial aid options—scholarships and tuition-free opportunities—to help students meet their career goals.  WRNJ Radio
  • New Jersey schools received $13.5M (the first part of a $50M literacy grant) in October to boost reading scores and teacher training in more than 100 schools; future funding depends on federal support. If the Education Department is closed, these funds may stop (a risk flagged by experts), leaving schools uncertain about further aid.  Daily Record

  • Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care psychologist Stephanie Marcello said that with daylight saving time ending, people who suffer from seasonal depression should spend time outdoors and consider light therapy—methods that research shows help ease symptoms.
