GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Morris County Division of Engineering and Transportation began overnight paving on Sussex Turnpike between Randolph and Morristown this week, keeping one lane open for travel while detours and police help manage traffic—work will continue Monday through Friday nights until the project is complete in two weeks, with ADA ramp improvements taken up during the day.  WRNJ Radio

HEALTH NEWS

  • Yesterday, the American Lung Association in New Jersey released its State of Lung Cancer report that showed the state ranked 8th in survival and 3rd for surgery while new case rates and screening also improved. The report said black patients were 32% less likely to receive surgery than white patients — a gap that highlights ongoing racial disparities in care.  WRNJ Radio

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • A new NJ law requires banks, credit unions, and lenders to offer biweekly and semimonthly mortgage payment options for new loans entered since November 1 — a measure signed in May by Gov. Phil Murphy that may help borrowers cut interest costs.
