- ➤ The FirstEnergy Foundation is funding STEM and electrical training at Warren County Community College and Sussex County Community College with a $55,000 grant as part of a $5.5 million community support program. Warren County Community College will receive $15,000 to expand its drone training program—Sussex County Community College will get $10,000 to help low income students in its Electrical Line Worker program. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Morris County Board of County Commissioners approved nearly $7 million to preserve over 192 acres in Denville Township, Mendham Township and Rockaway Township at their Tuesday meeting. Mendham Township received $214,000 for 11.72 acres at 3 Tingley Road—Rockaway Township secured $1.04 million for 123.3 acres at Wildcat Ridge Preserve—Denville Township received $5.7 million to save 57.29 acres that will become a community park and recreation area. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Officials in Washington Township reported that a raccoon tested positive for rabies after it contacted two dogs near Old Farmers Road and Youngman Drive on Nov. 12. They urged residents to keep pets vaccinated and avoid contact with wild animals—animal control is monitoring the situation for any further exposures. Daily Record

- ➤ NJAC coaches have selected the top girls soccer players for postseason honors in Morris and Sussex counties for 2025, awarding first and second teams, honorable mentions, division champions and sportsmanship awards. The honors cover multiple divisions—NJAC-National, NJAC-Liberty, NJAC-Colonial, NJAC-Independence, NJAC-Freedom and NJAC-American—and recognize stars from schools like Montville, Mendham and Morristown Beard.
