  • The Morris Museum opened Perennial Land — The Data Forest, an immersive cinematic installation by international artists Laia Cabrera and Isabelle Duverger that uses projection mapping to explore climate change and connect viewers to local efforts such as Frelinghuysen Arboretum’s wetland restoration.   • A tribute to North Jersey's nightclub history details 99 clubs that lit up the region from the 1970s to the 1990s—examples include lively venues in Morristown and other nearby towns. FINANCE NEWS

  • Federal officials announced that Social Security benefits for New Jersey retirees will rise by 2.8% in January 2026, increasing the average check by $60.57 to $2,223.74—making it the second-highest boost in the nation. Nationwide, 71 million beneficiaries and 7.5 million SSI recipients will get higher payments as SSI increases start on Dec. 31.  Daily Record

  • On Nov. 25, the Morris County Boys Soccer Coaches Association announced postseason honorees at a luncheon where Randolph midfielder R.J. Dougherty was named Player of the Year and Chatham was named Team of the Year. Coach Mark Maka earned Coach of the Year, several top players were invited to a statewide all-star game on Dec. 3, and Madison coach Rich Vasquez was honored as United Soccer Coaches’ New Jersey small-school Coach of the Year—details that mark a season of strong play—setting a competitive tone for the county's boys soccer.  Daily Record
