GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ New Jersey law allows residents to keep pet raccoons if they obtain a captive game permit and an importation permit from NJ Fish and Wildlife+pets must be bought from licensed breeders since wild raccoons cannot be taken from nature. The rules also apply to skunks and opossums while banning potentially dangerous wild animals like deer. Daily Record
- ➤ The New Jersey Department of Agriculture announced it will continue its USDA partnership to fund reimbursable meals in day care centers, after-school programs, and adult care facilities through the Child and Adult Care Food Program — operators will submit monthly claims to receive USDA funding for nutritious meals.
