  • Sammy’s Ye Old Cider Mill in Mendham was sold after nearly one century under the Fomaro family, who began the restaurant as a 1920s speakeasy and built its reputation as an iconic North Jersey steakhouse.   • A New Jersey lottery player won a $90 million Mega Millions jackpot from the Tuesday, Dec. 2 drawing when only one ticket matched all six numbers—a 26th state win—and the jackpot will reset to $50 million for the Friday, Dec. 5 drawing.  Daily Record
  • No ticket matched all six numbers in the Dec 1 drawing, and lottery officials say the Powerball jackpot will grow for today's drawing at 10:59 p.m.—its cash option valued at $362.5 million—reaching an estimated $775 million.  WRNJ Radio

HEALTH NEWS

  • Experts warn that shoveling snow poses serious heart risks for older residents and those with preexisting conditions in Morristown—using ergonomic tools and taking breaks is recommended to reduce dangers like chest pain and high blood pressure. Residents are advised to stop shoveling and seek help if they experience symptoms during snow clearing.  Daily Record
  • New Jersey’s Department of Banking and Insurance adopted final rules to cap out-of-pocket costs for a 30-day supply of insulin, epinephrine auto-injectors and asthma inhalers—limits set at $35 for insulin, $25 for auto-injectors and $50 for inhalers. The measures, part of Gov. Murphy’s plan to reduce health care costs, have already taken effect for state-regulated insurers.  WRNJ Radio
