  • Firefighters responded at about 11 p.m. Thursday to a house fire in Green Pond in Rockaway Township — an electrical fault sparked the blaze — and a working smoke detector alerted the homeowner, allowing crews to contain the fire before it spread further.  WRNJ Radio

  • Stephanie Devli, a Saddle River native and CEO of Happy Camp3r, was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 on Dec. 12 after launching her mental wellness-driven comfort brand in 2020. The recognition boosts plans for expanding retail partnerships and growing her business locally.  Daily Record
  • Doherty Enterprises signed a deal with QDOBA to open 27 new restaurants across New York and New Jersey, with roughly 15 in counties such as Morris. The new locations will roll out over the next several years across sites including Hunterdon + Monmouth + Ocean + Passaic + Sussex + Warren.  WRNJ Radio

  • The National Fire Protection Association warns that December often sees a spike in home fires caused by cooking and heating equipment, so Morristown residents should follow safety guidelines during the holiday season.  WRNJ Radio
  • Morristown Medical Center’s Gagnon Pediatric Emergency Department was named a Certified Autism Center by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards — a change that comes with upgraded staff training and modernized patient rooms to support children with autism during emergencies.  WRNJ Radio

  • Food writer Kara VanDooijeweert said that the best meal this week was a 54-layer lasagna from Frank Anthony's in Verona, where pork, beef, and three kinds of cheese came together in a hearty slice.
