- ➤ A Morris County tour company agreed to pay $4.4 million to settle claims it wrongly obtained forgivable PPP loans, federal officials said - the settlement resolves allegations under the False Claims Act concerning the company’s program eligibility. WRNJ Radio

- ➤ Federal Reserve President John Williams said NJ's economy avoided the worst national issues but many residents continued to face rising costs for housing & health care. He warned that inflation and a cooling labor market may keep economic quality uneven into next year as businesses adjust. Daily Record

- ➤ Bird lovers are invited to try a new peanut feeder using unshelled peanuts or peanut hearts to attract chickadees and wrens this winter. Olivia Sanderfoot of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology advises cleaning the feeder every two weeks—especially in wet weather—to keep birds well fed. Daily Record

- ➤ The New Jersey Lottery announced winners for tickets purchased last week—a Sunoco of Morristown ticket won $1 million in Powerball and 28 others received prizes of $10,000 or more. Daily Record

- ➤ Wildlife officials have extended New Jersey’s black bear hunting season for shotgun & muzzleloader hunters from Dec. 17 through Dec. 20. The new period follows recent hunt segments that yielded 454 bears statewide and allows zone permits to be purchased from 10 a.m. WRNJ Radio
- ➤ Rep. Josh Gottheimer honored 20 North Jersey residents at the Hometown Heroes ceremony on Monday at Barrymore Film Center in Fort Lee. The event recognized veterans, first responders and volunteers for their community service. WRNJ Radio
- ➤ The New Jersey Department of Health announced new statewide licensing and safety standards for embryo storage facilities, including IVF clinics and labs, that took effect Dec. 15. Facilities must notify the department by Jan. 15 and complete full applications by Feb. 13. WRNJ Radio
