CULTURE NEWS

  • Morris County officials released a Revolutionary history coloring book to help families explore local sites in honor of the 250th anniversary. Developed by the 250th Celebrations Committee and Tourism Bureau, the 15‑page book features scenes from landmarks — including the Ford Mansion and Washington’s Headquarters.  WRNJ Radio
  • First Night Morris County will spotlight local Revolutionary history on Dec. 31 with over 80 performances across town, featuring interactive tours and historical exhibits at key venues. Free parking+ shuttle service will begin at 4 p.m.  WRNJ Radio

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Rep. Tom Kean Jr. announced Wednesday that students from Morris County School of Technology won the 2025 Congressional App Challenge with their ChronoIQ app, which eases time management and stress. The winners will be honored in the U.S. Capitol and attend the House of Code celebration in spring.  WRNJ Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • NJDOT launched holiday-themed digital highway signs on Dec. 16 to promote safe driving and add seasonal cheer until Jan. 5. The signs display messages daily (7 a.m. to 9 p.m.) across 230 locations.  Daily Record
  • New Jersey law prohibits a child from sitting on an adult’s lap in a moving vehicle even during holiday drive-thru light shows. Families must secure children in approved car seats + boosters in the back seat to avoid fines and injury.  Daily Record
  • NJDEP & FEMA have released updated Flood Insurance Rate Maps for Morris County that will guide flood insurance and planning decisions. Public open houses are set for Jan. 8 at the county safety academy in Morristown and Jan. 13 at the Chester Library for residents to review the changes.  WRNJ Radio

HEALTH NEWS

  • Six hospitals from St. Luke’s University Health Network were named among the nation’s top safety performers by the Leapfrog Group this week. St. Luke’s Warren Campus was one of only seven in New Jersey to earn the honor, reflecting strong standards in patient care.  WRNJ Radio
  • NewBridge Services has launched its redesigned website today at newbridge.org to expand access to counseling, housing and education programs by clarifying service details and showing its integration with Christian Health (a new logo was recently adopted).  WRNJ Radio

  • Eight beloved eateries across North Jersey closed in 2025 amid lingering COVID impacts and economic challenges.
