GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin joined 20 states in a federal lawsuit to stop the end of FEMA’s Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities program — which funds projects to protect homes and critical sites from natural disasters. - ➤ On July 16, the state Supreme Court ruled that hospitals must offer charity care to patients who cannot pay, saying free treatment is not an unconstitutional taking of private property—hospitals can still try to change the rules through legal channels.
